    LMT: A Different Approach to Motorcycle Training

    Instead of selling you a complete training course that includes everything from CBT to Mod 2 test and charging you a large sum of money upfront, we handle bookings differently. A fast-track course may suit some people if everything goes smoothly, but it doesn't account for unexpected events such as test failures or personal changes. Many have found it challenging to get refunds when life changes happen.

    How Our Training Booking Process Works

    All prices quoted include VAT, bike hire, insurance, petrol, helmet, and gloves hire.

    Book Your Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)

    The cost of CBT starts from

    and takes a full day.

    • You will need a UK driving licence (provisional is fine) or an EU driving licence registered with the DVLA
    • You should be able to ride a bicycle and have a basic understanding of the Highway Code
    • Many beginners find it easier to do their CBT on an automatic scooter

    DAS Training - Module 1 & Module 2

    Once you have completed your CBT, you can book your Module 1 and Module 2 training.

    • Module 1 consists of slow speed maneuvers and takes place off-road at a test centre
    • Module 2 is the practical road riding test
    • Both modules must be passed to obtain your full motorcycle licence

    Module 1 Test

    The Module 1 test is an off-road test of slow speed maneuvers.

    • The Module 1 test must be passed before you can take the Module 2 test
    • The Module 1 test includes maneuvers such as slow ride, a slalom, figure of eight, and a U-turn
    • The Module 1 test also includes hazard avoidance, a controlled stop and an emergency stop

    Taking the test

    The DVSA test fee for Module 1 is £15.

    If you’re on a small bike, you can book and go to the test centre independently, if you prefer.

    If you are on a larger bike you would need to be taken by an instructor, this service costs £200 for the bike hire and the instructor. You would need to purchase a test via us, this is the only way we can ensure an instructor and bike are available to take you to test. If you book a test independently we would not be able to help you.

    Module 2 Test

    The Module 2 test is an on-road test of your riding ability.

    • The Module 2 test must be passed to obtain your full motorcycle licence
    • The Module 2 test includes includes a road ride with an examiner and about 10 minutes of independent riding
    • The Module 2 test also includes an eyesight check and 2 vehicle safety questions

    Taking the test

    The DVSA test fee for Module 1 is £75.

    Again, if you’re on a small bike, you can book and go to the test centre independently, if you prefer.

    If you are on a larger bike, as with Module 1 Test, you would need to be taken by an instructor, this service costs £200 for the bike hire and the instructor. You would need to purchase a test via us, this is the only way we can ensure an instructor and bike are available to take you to test. If you book a test independently we would not be able to help you.
